- Learn about the health and safety concerns when working with clay
- Roll out a slab of white porcelain rich clay and compress
- Brainstorm your design and make a template on paper
- Your tutor will offer various options for the design and texture of your pieces
- Apply texture to your slab using natural and man made materials OR carve into the clay
- Cut your clay pieces to the template designs
- Allow the pieces to set before smoothing all edges carefully
- Applying underglaze colours
- Choices of clear or tinted glaze options will be discussed
- Jewellery findings will be provided and their use demonstrated
Your pieces will be carefully dried for a week, bisque fired, glazed and glaze fired. They will be ready for pick up in 3-4 weeks time. Earing and pendant findings will be attached. The ceramic ring piece will be glued to the ring base.
All tools, clay, materials and firing is included.
Feel free to wear an apron to protect your clothes from clay dust.
