Creative Foundations was born from a clear need identified within the dynamic Waitākere Arts Community. We saw an opportunity to cultivate a space where creativity could flourish, offering engaging art classes that truly resonate with the heart of Auckland's artistic spirit.
Art for everyone, no matter your journey
Whether you're an absolute beginner or a seasoned artist, our programs are designed to ignite your passion. Developed by artists Jill Butler and Anna McLeod, our unique 'out of the box' creative warm-up exercises help you shed perfectionism, embrace curiosity, and unlock your innate creativity. We celebrate the process of making art, ensuring every session is a rewarding, stand-alone experience where you leave with a completed artwork and new inspiration to continue at home.

What makes Creative Foundations truly special is the unparalleled blend of expertise from our dynamic duo, Jill Butler and Anna McLeod. Jill brings her rich experience as a painter and designer, while Anna, a ceramic artist, previously taught Sculpture & Art History. Together, they offer a unique art learning experience that combines different approaches and insights, ensuring a comprehensive and inspiring creative journey for all participants.
