Garden Tower

• This project is ideal for participants who have worked with clay before or taken one of our clay workshops. 
• It uses slab, coiling and pinch-pot techniques to create a terracotta garden totem/tower of your own design with a bird topper

• Suited for adults and participants 16yrs+.

• Learn about the health and safety concerns when working with clay
• Learn how to join clay securely using the score and slip technique
• Brainstorm your design and make a template on paper
• Your tutor will discuss various design and construction considerations
• Use slab, coil and pinch-pot methods to create the various components of your terracotta garden tower with bird topper
• Apply accents of colour and texture to your components
• Your tutor will discuss how the components slide onto a central metal rod (included)

Your compoenets will be carefully dried for a week and kiln fired, and be ready for pick up in 2-3 weeks time. 

All tools, clay, materials and firing is included.

Aluminum rod is included, although you may wish to upgrade to a sturdier version at your own cost.

Feel free to wear an apron to protect your clothes from clay dust.
